Two Dumb Thieves Caught On Tape.
On August 8th, two young thieves, male and female in their mid 20s, were caught on camera stealing mail from the mail boxes at the Paseo Villas apartment complex in Manteca, CA.
Even though, there was a sign with a warning that the area was videotaped, the thieves were dumb enough to walk to the mail boxes anyway. Hopefully, someone will be able to recognize them and report the thieves. There is a reward of $1000.00 available through Crimestoppers. Please call them at (209) 823-4636 if you know anything.
Take some steps to protect your mail from being stolen. Drop off your mail at the post office instead of leaving it in your mail box for a mail pick up. The Identity Theft and Fraud including mail theft is on the rise. Probably, has something to do with the tough economy, my guess. The good news is that there are a lot of thieves who are just outright dumb like the two in this video and a lot of them get caught. The bad news is that there are a lot of very smart thieves who come up with very sophisticated schemes and they never get caught.
