While police booked two people on suspicion of identity theft, a third man associated with the suspects showed up at the police station with drugs in his possession and driving a fraudulently rented vehicle, police said.
The investigation began with a call for a possible DUI, when Morgan Hill Cpl. Ray Ramos was dispatched to the area of Home Depot on East Dunne Avenue about 1:45 p.m. Monday. CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KTTC-TV) – A pharmacist from Cresco has pleaded guilty to federal charges of trying to defraud a health insurance company.
The U.S. Attorney in Cedar Rapids says Patrick Slifka, 50, of Decorah pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identify theft.
CHICAGO (STNG) — A former CTA employee was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for stealing the personal information of customers to buy personal items from local department stores.
Miranda Smith, 24, of Chicago, pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and identity theft charges after being initially charged in 2007, according to a Cook County State’s Attorney’s office release.
Cook County Judge Kenneth Wadas sentenced Smith to four years in prison during a hearing Wednesday. She faced up to seven years in prison.
